Office Information

Call us at (860) 489-4144for all appointments. We make every attempt to be as responsive to your scheduling needs as possible. Our phone lines are open from 9:00 am - 4:30 pm Monday through Friday and 9:00 am - 10:30 am on Saturday.

Sick Visits

Please call for sick visit appointments as soon as possible after 9:00 am. If you know you would like your child seen, calling early will give you the most options for appointment times. We try to see all sick children on the same day if possible. However, if a patient/parent calls for an appointment late in the day or if a patient walks in without a scheduled appointment, they will be booked in the next available appointment time (which may be the following morning if there is not a medical emergency).

Well Care

If possible, please wait until after 10:00 am Monday through Friday to make well child appointments so that sick visits can be scheduled first thing in the morning. We encourage parents of school age children and adolescents to make checkup appointments well in advance, especially if you plan on coming in during the spring and summer months. Also keep in mind that late afternoon (after school) well visit appointments fill up very quickly so please call well enough in advance if you would like one of those time slots. See table below for our usual Well Child Appointment Schedule.

Prescription Renewals

To renew medications, call between 9 am and 4:30 pm and speak with our staff. Please leave the following information with them: your name and cell phone/home phone number, your child's name, the name of the prescription you would like refilled, and the name of your pharmacy. The information will be reviewed by one of our providers for approval. We may request that you schedule a follow up for your child if it has been an extended amount of time since the last follow up appointment. Please do not allow your prescription to run out before calling for a refill! Ideally, allow a minimum of 48 hours for the prescription to be approved and filled. Please note that prescriptions will not be refilled by the covering/on call doctor.

Evenings and Weekends

We will see sick patients only (no well child visits) on Saturday mornings. Monday through Friday evenings, Saturday afternoon, and Sunday, a group of local pediatricians (including the three pediatricians in our practice) take turns being "on call" to answer any urgent questions that may arise. For all emergencies, please call 911 or go to the nearest emergency room. All routine questions and prescription refills should wait for our regular business hours. Call our main number (860) 489-4144 for information on contacting the on call pediatrician.

Consultations

There are times when it is helpful to meet with parents who are expecting, or parents with or without their child, before or after regular officehours. These visits are scheduled as consultations. If you would like to schedule a consultation please call during regular office hours and we will set up a time for you to come in.

Cancellations Late Arrivals

We request that you give us 24 hours notice for cancellations. We understand that emergencies or schedule conflicts arise, so please justgive us a call. Also call us to let us know if you are running late for your appointment. We may be able to accomodate you after consulting with the provider. However, if too much time has passed, we may need to reschedule your appointment.
